The Hanoi Towers. These are short-term apartments used by many foreigners (included adoptive parents) for longer stays in Hanoi. They are more expensive than a hotel, but include kitchenettes and are more "homey." There is a shopping area we used on the ground floor that caters to so many foreigners that the primary currency is USD (even giving change) in most of the shops. This shopping area is also very practical, containing more day-to-day consumable living type shops (including a coffee shop and a grocery store) and less souvenir / clothing / jewelry type shops. Nevertheless, we managed to find two souvenir carts and bought a significant number of souvenirs there.
